Many others have weighed in on the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy movie. I’m not grand film critic or anything…but I felt like putting in my two cents. Note: may contain spoilers…
I expected more of it, quite simply. I must abmit I have not read the books, so I’m coming from a completely clean slate. I know many times when people who have read the book(s) that were later made into movies give it a bad review. This happens simply because the power of ones imagination can not be put on a screen, we all have our seperate envisionments of the book.
But I digress. The funniest part, I found, was when they were on the Vogons homeworld (they are beauracratic, keep in mind) if they had any ideas, they would get smacked in the face by what appeared to be a rather large flyswatter. Aside from that there were no really funny scenes. I chuckled my way through it, but it definitely wasn’t all that hillarious.
I can give it credit for one thing – it has made me want to read the book. If for no other reason then to see exactly what it could’ve been.
