On the way over to my friends house a guy asked me if I had seen a brown dog with an orange collar running around. I hadn’t, but I told him that I’d keep an eye out…unfortunately I didn’t ask his phone number or where he lived. As I was headed home (about 15 minutes later) I hear a dog barking. I take a look, and just as I thought, it was a brown dog with an orange collar. I followed the dog around a while, calling it to me, but being a stranger and considering the dog was probably lost, it just kept barking at me and wandering off. At this point I’m wishing I had the guys phone number.
Finally, after following it around for a good 10 or 15 minutes, I hear it’s owner calling for it, so I slowly “herd” the dog towards the guys voice. Eventually the dog hears it’s name being called and runs off to it’s owner. The guy sees me and thanks me, and I head home. The thing about it was, he had a kid, and I could hear how happy the kid was when he saw the dog running towards him. It made me feel good…having grown up with a dog all my almost life, I know how that kid felt. It was nice to help someone out like that…it seems such a small thing, but you know…it was nice.
